Aker Solutions delivered its first steam driven winch in 1891. Steam driven deck machinery was successfully delivered up to the beginning of the 1980’s.
In the 1950’s Aker Solutions developed electric driven deck machinery. First DC controlled and then later pole-changing electric deck machinery. In the 1990’s Aker Solutions developed and delivered the first electric deck machinery based on AC frequency control.
In the 1960’s Aker Solutions developed hydraulic high-pressure deck machinery. Today hydraulic high-pressure deck machinery based on ring main system is the back-bone of Aker Solutions Pusnes Marine Systems.
