Project Management
Aker Kvaerner takes an integrated approach to programme management.
The whole project is executed under our Project Execution Model (PEM) that codifies the review hold points and phases required to manage risk and ensure efficient execution.
We use Primavera Engineering & Construction to develop the programme with costs and resources from a standard in-house suite of Excel estimating sheets. All key activities and stages are detailed in the project programme and critical path analysis used to confirm that the required completion date is achievable or bettered.
The production of design documents and drawings is regulated and monitored by our in house enhanced Documentum system and design man-hours regulated and reported through our PRIMAS progress control and reporting system.
Overall cost control is achieved by our Oracle accounts system and procurement is done through the use of MAXIMO, which is used for the electronic requisitioning of Bulks and Major Equipment items, through to Purchasing, Expediting, Inspection and on-site Material Control.
Weekly meetings between the project managers, buyers, expeditors, chief Quantity Surveyor, planners, and project engineers are held to review purchasing progress against programme and budget.
Site construction progress is controlled through PRIMAS- Site and monitored and recorded in the Primavera project programme database.
Project Completion, O&M manuals, Commissioning, Training and Hand-over is controlled by our in house Completion Management System.
These systems can be used in conjunction with third party web collaboration tools such as BIW or ProjectsOnline to allow all participants direct access to the latest documents and Primavision to allow direct viewing of the project programme.
