Quality and Operations Handbook


 


Aker Construction maintains an Operations Handbook which goes beyond traditional company operations manuals in that it sets forth a cultural and systematic approach to the way Aker Construction conducts its business and, most importantly, how we undertake the quality performance of our operations and projects. The Handbook includes:

  • QA / QC Corporate Program
  • QA / QC Site Specific Program
  • Pressure Vessel Codes and Stamps
  • Boilermaker Weld Certification
  • Lessons Learned Database
  • and all other company operations and procedures
The primary purpose of the Operations Handbook is to provide the Project Team, Operations Management and support department personnel with essential tools and useful information, serve as an invaluable guidance and support system and to present the Aker Construction Quality system.

The Handbook is user-friendly and is presented in a clear, concise and non-bureaucratic style which is intended to encourage its use as the primary reference source for our operations and business. 

This methodology maximizes the Project Team's individual and collective know-how, and enhances their ability to profitably execute and deliver projects and services in a quality way, exceeding the expectations of our customers and earning Absolute Client Satisfaction.

The purpose and key benefits of the Operations Handbook are:
  • Provides a forum for employee feedback of our operations and systems, which generates positive change, resulting in continuous improvement in all areas of our operations.
  • Provides an accelerated orientation program for new management and operations employees.
  • Establishes guidelines and rules for project performance behavior and business conduct.

  • Provides a concise commentary on the Aker Construction Quality System which pertains to Operations Management, the Project Team and support departments.
