These have involved the provision of significant multidiscipline teams covering Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, Piping and HVAC engineers.
Involvement in the commissioning of numerous plants handling hazardous materials has meant that our engineers are familiar with working in controlled environments and in the operation of ‘permit to work’ systems. Moreover, through our experience in process plant commissioning, we have developed expertise in the effective planning and control of site work to ensure that sufficient resources and materials are available at all times. Equally, we realise the importance of establishing and maintaining effective and regular lines of communications between all parties and of implementing efficient recording systems.
We have also assisted customers in dealing with the various authorising and regulatory bodies through all project phases up to and including commissioning.
Key aspects associated with commissioning which Aker Kvaerner undertakes:
- Commissioning aspects are always considered during early stages of the design phase.
- Our engineers from the design phase are used to commissioning plants.
- We understand the importance and the requirements associated with keeping existing plants operational, whilst commissioning new facilities.
- The requirement of meeting Quality Regulator, temporary or permanent standards are fully understood.
