Concept and Feasibility Studies

Aker Solutions can bring to bear an extensive fund of engineering experience to conduct formal feasibility reviews on any potential nuclear project. 

Because we have almost certainly done a similar project already, the knowledge accumulated over decades of process engineering and construction can be applied to any outline project. Whether it be to advise of potential pitfalls, possible risks, and the most cost and time effective way of implementing the project.  If we encounter unforeseen challenges in assessing the feasibility of a project these can be costed and used to rank the project as part of the project feasibility report.

In addition we are able to undertake Nuclear Safety Cases.  For example, preparation of a Safety Report for submission to the HSE under the COMAH Regulations 1999.  The Safety Case includes a variety of information ranging from organisational and process descriptions through to risk assessment, ALARP Assessment and emergency planning.

Risk assessments provide an analysis of risk based upon plant and control system configurations, so enabling appropriate measures to be developed and implemented to minimise the safety or environmental risks.
