Aker Verdal is within Aker Solutions most known as and responsible for engineering and building large steel constructions and steel substructures (jackets) for the offshore oil industry.
In addition to steel jackets the offshore yard in Verdal deliver a wide range of other products, such as:
- hulls for floating production platforms
- heavy steel structures (decks etc.)
- flare towers
- bridges
- structural work for skids, pre-assemblies, etc.
- substructures for offshore wind mills
Aker Solutions started jacket fabrication in 1975, and since early 1980 jacket fabrication has developed to become the core business of this yard.
Aker Solution has delivered 33 jackets during the last 30 years - weighing from 1,000 to 20,000 tonnes, and from 70 to 215 meters high.
