Aker Solutions can offer alternative solutions for VOC recovery related to crude oil loading onshore and offshore. These solutions are based on either various alternative absorption systems, carbon bed adsorption systems or combinations of the two.

Emerging from more than 20 years of dealing with VOC recovery challenges and continuous technology developments, the following alternatives can be offered:

CVA (Carbon Vacuum-regenerated Adsorption)
for low concentration hydrocarbon vapours on shuttle tankers and terminals
AB-CVA (Absorption combined with Carbon Vacuum-regenerated Adsorption)
for higher concentration hydrocarbon vapours on shuttle tankers and terminals
CLAB (Cold liquid absorption)
for high-capacity onshore terminal application
