Fast Track Filter Dryer Project

AK pharmaceuticals carried out detailed engineering and planning for the installation of a filter dryer to increase drying capacity and improve isolation options.
The brief was to install a validated plant to cGMP within a tight programme and reach beneficial production as soon as possible.
Excellent communication was vital as the project design development was fast-paced and all team leaders needed to be fully briefed at all times.
In addition to the normal responsibilities, the Client Project Manager acted as facilitator to ensure that the project team was guided through the Clients systems, procedures and site specifications. This proved a valuable function to ensure time was not wasted in being brought up to speed on client specific issues.

The equipment vendor, Rosenmund, supplied 3 skids to service the Filter Dryer. The Compovac skid to reduce N2 consumption during drying and recover solvent, the Heat Transfer Module to provide heating and cooling to the Filter Dryer Jacket and the Filtrate Receiver Skid to receive recovered solvent during filtration and drying.
The main advantage of Rosenmund supplying all 3 major skids was to reduce interfaces and the risks associated with mating different suppliers equipment. This also had a positive effect on project programme and reducing project costs by allowing the project team to concentrate on other areas.
