In the fields of CHP and Cogeneration, Aker Solutions has completed a large number of projects for both the public and private sectors.

These have involved master planning, technical and economic feasibility evaluations, cost benefit analyses, regulator and utility interface including planning and permitting, site investigations, preliminary project engineering, design and construction/installation/commissioning.
We have designed, engineered and constructed steam and power generating facilities for the petroleum, electric utility, pulp and paper, chemical and metallurgical industries. Many of these projects utilised the output of waste heat recovery units combined with supplemental fuel as boiler fuel feed.
Over recent years, we have developed a strong project group which is focussed on providing consultancy, engineering and turnkey project services for clients wishing to develop CHP/Cogeneration facilities, typically in the range 5 – 60 MW(e), although the capability exists to handle larger outputs. The working knowledge of our host clients systems and the process interfaces eliminates complications when moving from conceptual design through to the finished plant commissioning.
