Ongoing research keeps us at the forefront of chloralkali process technology. For example, our latest advancement is the patented Sulphate Removal System (SRS), which can dramatically reduce brine purge volumes or eliminate the discharge of solid barium sulphate. With significant savings in operating costs, SRS technology offers attractive economics in addition to environmental benefits.
We have focused our recent chloralkali development efforts on what we consider to be a key element of a successful chloralkali plant – the brine system. We maintain a working brine system model in our technology centre near Vancouver to adapt our process for a variety of salt sources.
