Gasoline Vapour Recovery

Gasoline is a volatile liquid that vaporizes very easily when in contact with the atmosphere. Vaporization stops when the air/gas mixture reaches the saturation point, which depends on the temperature, the composition of gasoline and the surrounding pressure.

Gasoline vapours are normally recovered for the following three reasons:

  1. To reduce the discharge of environmentally hazardous substances
  2. To reduce the safety risks in the distribution and handling of gasoline
  3. To reduce the significant losses of valuable energy resources thus reducing economic losses represented by the vaporization of gasoline
