Aker Solutions is through its subsidiaries and affiliates ("Aker Solutions") a leading global provider of services related to design, construction, maintenance, modification and operation of both large and small industrial facilities. In addition the group provides advanced technology products, either on their own or as part of integrated solutions. Aker Solutions is owned 40.27 percent by Aker Holding of which Aker ASA holds a controlling 60 percent, the Norwegian Government owns 30 percent, SAAB owns 7.5 percent and Investor owns 2.5 percent.

Aker Solutions's businesses span a number of industries, including oil and gas, refining and petrochemicals, power generation and mining and metals.
The group has approximately 24 000 own employees in about 30 countries, in addition to approximately 9 000 agency staff and contract personnel. In 2007 operating revenues were approx NOK 58 billion.
The financial reporting structure of the group is based on five business areas: Field Development, Maintenance, Modifications & Operations (MMO), Subsea, Products & Technologies (P&T) and Process & Construction (P&C).
