Aker Solutions' main activity within the UK nuclear industry is to assist the British nuclear authorities with clean up work related to sections of Sellafield where operations have been closed down. The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority has strategic responsibility for the UK's nuclear legacy, and is decommissioning 20 civil public sector nuclear sites safely and securely, whilst protecting the environment. In addition to the clean up activities at Sellafield, Aker Solutions also holds extensive capability providing decommissioning and clean up expertise at a number of these UK nuclear sites.
