"We are on schedule, and will deliver a complete platform to Statoil as promised on 25 March next year," says Aker Kvaerners Project Manager, Jan-Tore Elverhaug.
In addition to some work transferred from other subcontractors, Statoil has given Aker Stord additional work such as planning and preparing the tie in for the Tyrihans satellite field. This field, which is located 35 km southeast of Kristin, will also be processed Kristin, Statoils new semi submersible gas production platform.
"We have been working closely and intensely with Statoil to implement the increased scope of work and are confident that we will deliver on schedule - and simultaneously keep our good HSE-records," says Mr. Elverhaug.
"Aker Kvaerner and Statoil have co-operated closely on many large field developments on the Norwegian shelf during the last 20 years. The Kristin development is based on a very advanced technological solution for one of the most challenging and demanding Norwegian reservoirs - with high pressure and high temperature," says Aker Kvaerner's Senior Vice President for field development, Mr. Simen Lieungh.
"Through challenging projects like Kristin we are achieving competence and experience that we mutually - or individually - can utilise in developing oil and gas fields in other parts of the world. In fact, when it comes to deep waters and field development in areas with a tough climate, our experience is both respected and demanded by the global oil companies. The same goes for reservoirs with high temperature and high pressure," says Mr. Lieungh.
