  Marine Loading Arms

Aker Kvaerner's Woodfield Loading Arms are designed generally in accordance with the OCIMF ‘Design and Construction for Marine Loading Arms’, and offer advantages in enhanced safety features and reliability in operation. Our Loading Arms need a minimum of service attention, requiring only routine maintenance.

All Woodfield's equipment is designed at our head office in the UK. However our worldwide manufacturing base allows cost effective solutions to be passed on to our clients without negatively influencing the integrity of our product. We are able to manufacture in India, Malaysia, Qatar, Dubai, USA, China and Eastern Europe as well as maintaining our construction base in the UK.

Cost effective soultions
Woodfield Systems Limited’s managing director, Richard Williams, says this co-operation heralds a new era of cost effective solutions for the loading arm market place: “We are very happy with our world-wide partners and the quality of their work. We have worked very hard and invested heavily in communication and experience transfer with our nominated construction houses, and as a result our design engineers have found working with the constructors to be easy and efficient.”

Factory Acceptance testing - LNG marine loading arm

Temperatures from -1640C to +2000C

The Woodfield range of Marine Loading Arms extend from 4” dia. up to 24” dia., for handling crude oil, refined products, slurries, chemicals, LPG, LNG and other cryogenic products. The equipment can cover operating temperatures from -1640C to +2000C.

Arms can be supplied as manual, hydraulic, electro-hydraulic with either hardwired or wireless remote control. Manually operated arms can be supplied with attachment brackets for the later addition of hydraulic operations. Operational limiting controls and other warning devices are available as optional extras. Woodfield Arms, although normally fixed in one jetty position, can be mounted on movable trailers or rail tracks to provide dockside flexibility.

Several types of quick connect/disconnect couplings are available for the full range of Loading Arms. An emergency disconnect coupling is also available as an operator initiated device or as part of a sequence controlled “shut down” disconnect-system.
