Aracruz Pulp Mill in Brazil is increasing its pulp production capacity and has ordered a rebuild and upgrade of one of its three recovery boilers. The boiler capacity will be 3,440 dry solids ton per day and start-up is scheduled at the end of 2001. This boiler rebuild is part of Aracruz plan to increase pulp capacity by 700,000 ton per year to 2,000,000 tons per year.
The Finnish power company, Kymin Voima Oy, has ordered a large bubbling fluidized bed boiler for a new power plant in Kuusankoski. The 269 MW power boiler will use bark, forest residue, bio-sludge and peat as fuel. Start-up is scheduled for the autumn of 2002.
Finally, a 20 MW steam boiler is to be supplied to Lidkoping Varmeverk ABs Energy-from-Waste plant in western Sweden. The new EfW-boiler is an extension of the existing power plant with two Kvaerner boilers from the 1980s. The new boiler is designed to use municipal and industrial waste as a fuel, and delivery will be in August 2002.
