Chevron Phillips Chemicals has awarded Aker Kvaerner front-end engineering design study in Qatar


Chevron Phillips Chemicals has awarded Aker Kvaerner front-end engineering design (FEED) study in Qatar. The new contract is worth approximately USD 11 million and is for the Polyethylene and Normal Alpha Olefins Plant at Mesaieed Industiral City, Qatar. 28 Jul 03
 


Besides the FEED study, the award includes associated engineering, design drafting and analytical services.
 
The Qatar contract represents a new geographical market area for Aker Kvaerner. The assignment has been won in strong international competition. The seven-month study and engineering will be handled by Aker Kvaerner's office in Houston, where more than 100 people will be engaged on the project at the peak of the work.
 
This award reinforces Aker Kvaerner's leading position in the chemicals and polymers business and the Middle East region, says Dennis Pisula, Senior Vice President for Business Development in Aker Kvaerner.
