The first two vessels being built by Aker Oilfield Services arrived in Norway in early April 2009. The vessels will remain at the yards in Aukra and Søvik in northwestern Norway for about a year, for the installation of high-tech equipment on board.
The first vessel, OSCV 06, arrived in Søvik in early April and the second (OSCV 03) was towed in to Aukra on the 21st of April 2009.
Aker Oilfield Services develops and offers services to subsea fields world-wide. The company can offer clients integrated services ranging from subsea installation and completion to advanced well intervention operations from the company’s fleet of state-of-the-art monohull well intervention units.
Aker Oilfield Services will be a turnkey provider through having in-house access to the entire spectrum of hardware, software and personnel required to undertake subsea well intervention operations in water depths up to 3 000 m. The arrival in Norway of the two vessels, which were constructed in Romania, marks another step forward in the fast-growing company‘s life.
