Within March and April of 2011 Aker Solutions' drilling business in the Caspian Sea region has been booming and we have received several single equipment orders at our Baku office.
All of the equipment is destined for the 4 x platform ACG Field operated by BP/AIOC in the Caspian Sea.
“Since late 2010 we have been advising BP to add additional single equipment spares to the ACG fleet and they have taken our advice seriously by placing these orders,” says George Taggart, drilling technologies regional manager in the Caspian. “This most recent commitment by BP reiterates the strength of our overall relationship with our clients in the Caspian and the “value added” element of our services in the area,” ends George.

- 1 x lower guiding arm (NOK 2.5 million)
- 1 x DDM dolly (NOK 0.9 million)
- 2 x HRN1899 auto roughneck (NOK 9.66 million)
- 1 x BRC Bridge Crane (NOK 5.5 million)
From BP
- 1 x PDPH gripper yoke (NOK 1.44 million)
- 1 x cathead (NOK 0.3 million)
- 1 x mudbucket (NOK 1.1 million)
- 1 x TFM tubular feeding machine (NOK 5.8 million)
- 1 x access basket (NOK 1.54 million)
UPDATE
In addition to the other recent successes in the Caspian, another significant order was received late May for NOK 16.4 million from BP/AIOC. This order concerns the repair and overhaul workscope related to the upcoming five year shutdown and overhaul for the East Azeri drilling platform. All work in accordance with this order will be carried out in the Aker Solutions Caspian workshop in Baku, Azerbaijan.
