Filip Brevik Årre has taken on a new role with Aker Solutions in Rio das Ostras in Brazil, as a service engineer and supervisor for mud handling equipment for the drilling lifecycle services (DLS) business.
On asking Filip why he decided to take on the position in Brazil he replies “first and foremost for the challenges it offers, but of course the climate difference from Norway was also a deciding factor”. Filip does not have any earlier ties to Brazil, but is lucky enough to have some friends studying there for the time being.
Filip has signed a contract to work in Brazil for one year, but mentions that this may be too short.
"The experience has been very good so far, of course there are some cultural differences and others as well, but working for three years in different parts of the world and almost living out of my bag has given me some practice on how to tackle different situations,” he says.
The new recruitment is further proof of the strengthening of our service base in Rio das Ostras in Macae, which is headed by Per Atle Gustafsen. More recruitment in Brazil is underway, as our installed base keeps growing.
