Deepwater risers
Our state-of-the-art deepwater risers are proven and reliable solutions for bringing oil and gas from seabed to surface. They range from metallic catenary risers, hybrid riser towers and top tensioned risers to aluminium risers, titanium risers and composites risers.
Our riser services include research and technology development, early field development studies, overall system design, conceptual design, detailed design and engineering, fabrication and installation.
We provide our customers with a full range of production and drilling riser technology, including associated equipment.
Integrated platform/riser/mooring design and analysis
A recent focus has been on the whole infield system, considering flowlines, risers, production platform and moorings. Aker Solutions together with JIP - DEMO 2000 has develop a new, simple, robust integrated (semi-mooring-riser) soution analysis, maturing the total system through a sound business case, verify the model testing and be ready for use in deep water development projects to come. The integrated approach will extend the use of existing technology to larger deep water depths.
For deepwater developments, the use of flexible riser becomes more and more difficult. An extensive work has during the last decade been preformed to enable the SCR Technology as an alternative to flexible risers.

Within umbilicals, we offer advanced and robust technology for providing vital links to subsea systems. Aker Solutions is at the forefront of deepwater umbilical technology – our umbilicals have been installed in some the world’s deepest fields.
More than 2 000km of Aker Solutions’ umbilicals have been installed worldwide since 1993. It proves we’ll go a long way to keep our customers happy.
