Hazop and hazid management
During the development of a large upstream oil and gas project, there is a need for third party reviews. This might be in the form of a hazard and operability study (HAZOP) and hazard identification study (HAZID), or in the form of process design reviews, safety reviews and so forth.
One of the requirements for such reviews is to ensure a "cold eye view" on the design. Each year our projects use large resources on this.
Aker Solutions has a large and competent resource group which might provide these services as independent specialised technical services.
During the years, experience has shown that if this "cold eye view" is by project external engineers within the Aker Solutions group, this represents several advantages:
- The specialists have a broader, longer and more up-to-date experience in this particular field than most external consultancies represent
- The specialists have in-depth knowledge of the normal work process of the project, so that any discrepancies are quickly identified
- The specialists may be mobilised on short notice
