Aker Solutions' Porsgrunn semi proportional control system is a well proven on/off hydraulic, incorporated with a new PLC-controller and frequency converter. It is designed for high accuracy and reliable manoeuvring of the rudder angle.

The system is fully integrated with the steering gear and includes alarm system, start/stop of pumps and rudder angle indication system. Aker Solutions' steering control system is a PLC-based system which is flexible in design and thus can be adopted to any kind of vessel.
