Our experience encompasses the complete spectrum of oil types, flowrates and separation performance requirements with flow capacities encompassing marginal to very large field developments. Our technology covers all crude types ranging from heavy crude oil to light condensate, high/low gas-oil ratios and high/low produced water flowrates.
All of our process internals are specifically designed for each application with advanced finite element analysis (FEA) techniques being employed in the design of highly stressed components. Process internals are available in range of materials with each component being manufactured to exacting standards to ensure high levels of reliability and durability
Aker Solutions has extensive experience of the use of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to optimise the design of separators and understand the requirement for eliminating recirculation, channelling and stagnant effects which can significantly reduce efficiency.
For applications where the structure is not fixed (FPSO’s and semi-submersible production facilities) we offer designs which accommodate liquid movements within the separator caused by the motions of the support structure. Additional perforated motion controlling baffles and other modifications to the process internals ensure correct operation at extreme design conditions.
