For removal of entrained liquid from a gas stream, a dense mesh pad arrangement is used in the top section of the vessel specifically placed to ensure maximum separation performance.
This design consists of a lattice arrangement of packed material, giving a calculated flow area to the wet gas stream. The fluids entrained in the gas are removed from the stream on direct contact with the mesh and, hence, the droplets grow in size as the process stream passes up the column. This leads to efficient separation of entrained liquid from the gas.
Depending upon process conditions and separation performance requiring different thicknesses, compositions and mesh densities are available to achieve the required performance.
