The purpose of gas dehydration is to remove dissolved water from wet saturated gas by contacting high concentrated glycol solution. The rich glycol is then regenerated by atmospheric distillation in the glycol regeneration package.

However this system has to be designed carefully to take into account all parameters of specific field conditions:

  • Very high pressure
  • High acid gas concentration
  • Associated gas
  • Retro-condensation
  • High BTX content

Only advanced in-house process design will ensure the best economical outcome and the highest performances.

Aker Solutions, with its 20 years operational experience and process expertise, provides custom-designed units and high-quality technology support.

Our systems are designed to meet stringent specifications, allow high energy recovery and adapt to availability constraints with a weight optimised compact modular design.

The glycol is regenerated by distillation to concentration up to 99 percent, then enhanced by fuel gas stripping up to 99.99 percent.

For low water dew point down to 1ppm, in order to reduce fuel gas emission and increase glycol purity, Aker Solutions has developed the green AKDry process to ‘strip’ the glycol via a condensate closed loop.
