Evolved from the company’s decades of experience in designing semisubmersible hulls, the DDS four-column ring pontoon semi represents a strong evolution of Aker Solutions semisubmersible lineage.

In 2007, Aker Solutions provided the design of the hull, mooring and risers, the delivery of the hull, delivery of titanium stress joints, transport of hull and topside to integration yard, tow to field, installation of mooring and hull, pull-in of risers as well as the design, delivery and pull-in of umbilicals.
It was the first use of Aker Solutions’ deep draft semisubmersible (DDS) concept, which was conceived specifically for the application of steel catenary risers in the ultra-deepwater and current-heavy Gulf of Mexico environment. Evolved from the company’s decades of experience in designing semisubmersible hulls, the DDS four-column ring pontoon semi represents a strong evolution of Aker Solutions semisubmersible lineage.
The platform produces 45 000–60 000 bopd oil and 45-150 MMSCFD gas. It has a displacement of 40 000 tonnes. The platform is moored with 8 polyester lines.
