Dry-tree semi: Production platform concept for ultra-deepwater fields

Aker Solutions is developing a Dry Tree Semi (DTS) hull-mooring-riser integrated system and performing model tests to investigate coupled system response. The objective is to qualify the dry-tree semisubmersible platform concept for ultra-deepwater field development projects.

Semisubmersible platform concept for ultra-deepwater field development projects

The Aker Solutions Dry Tree Semi (DTS) provides a competitive field development option with a number of key advantages. Key design drivers are proven technology for hull, mooring, and riser system; simplified hull and riser systems; robust hull and riser global performance; quayside integration and commissioning; flexibility for topsides payload and riser count; and cost efficiency for a balanced topside-hullmooring- riser system.

The concept is optimised for minimised risk in construction, installation, and operation, and aims to provide a field proven concept – in design, construction, installation, operation, and maintenance. It is developed from the conventional semisubmersible hull geometry, adapting proven steel catenary riser (SCR)-based deep draft semi design, utilising conventional hull shape.
