The construction of the Heidrun Tension Leg Platform (TLP) for Conoco began in 1991. The platform was installed in Haltenbanken in June 1995 and is operated by Statoil.
The Heidrun TLP is a Tension Leg Platform with gravity/ suction anchors installed in the sea bed for connection of the tethers. A modularised topside was installed on concrete support beams. The topside has spare space and weight capacity for one more module. The TLP and anchors are installed in 345 m water depth over a partly pre-drilled template.
Heidrun has one of the larges drilling rigs on the NCS. Produced gas is exported to Tjeldbergodden in Haltenpipe. The platform does not have oil storage so produced oil is off-loaded continously to an oil shuttle- tanker.
Scope of work:
- Engineering, procurement, construction and installation of the TLP foundations, tethers main support beams and the TLP hull.
