Shradha

Since starting at Aker Solutions, Shradha has worked as part of the organization's global workshare program out of both Mumbai and Norway. She works on structural calculations of platform structures for maintenance projects on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and is now located in Stavanger on a permanent basis.

What is it like to work for a Norwegian multinational organization?

My initial work experience in India was from a small consultancy firm and thus not comparable to a multinational company because the work culture is very different. The flat structure at Aker Solutions makes it easy to communicate with managers and colleagues, and you are trusted with the work given to you. I feel that my opinions are valued and the open communication makes it easier to perform.

How do you like being part of a global team?

It has been a great learning experience for me. I have worked on split location projects from Mumbai with the Bergen and Stavanger offices and also had the opportunity to travel, work and live in Stavanger for long periods. Knowing people on the other end of the email or call definitely makes communication easier. I also had the chance to go offshore to visit a platform and that experience significantly helped broaden my knowledge.

What do you think the future holds for you?

I definitely see a future at Aker Solutions. The job has completely lived up to my expectations and I see myself growing here. It is a positive working environment. I feel like my colleagues and managers are always encouraging me, even if I have different opinions. And I like the variety of tasks. I am mostly involved in analysis of structures related to maintenance and modifications, but there are opportunities for me also in onshore, offshore, subsea and other areas.
