De-risking offshore wind developments

We have been designing and delivering offshore floating and deepwater structures to the global offshore energy markets for half a centuary. These include more than 160 complex floating structures – including semi-submersibles, spar buoys, tension leg platforms (TLP) and ship-shape FPSOs. This experience is invaluable in de-risking new offshore wind projects. 

Complex environments

Customers and partners trust Aker Solutions to advance frontiers in complex environments and harsh waters. Our semi-submersible drilling and production platform designs have enabled energy production in the world’s most challenging offshore environments. Aker Solutions has designed 60 percent of the world’s semi-submersible platforms, including the largest in the world. 

Now we are pioneering new and sustainable solutions to power the energy transition. Deepwater wind is expected to become the most effective renewable energy source. More than 80 percent of the global offshore wind resources are in deeper waters. Our unique deepwater jacket technologies can drive down costs and unlock acreage also on intermediate depths, between 50 and 70 meters.

Aker Solutions supports the offshore wind value chain from cradle to grave:

• early phase studies
• FEED (front-end engineering design)
• EPCI (engineering procurement construction installation) services
• lifetime extension and demobilization

In addition to using our own yards for fabrication, we also collaborate extensively with partners and sub-contractors. This allows us to adapt to client requirements such as geography and scale,  and optimize the supply chain.
