Our London team provides front-end studies, engineering, procurement and project management services for initiating and executing oil & gas field, offshore wind HVDC, renewable energy and carbon capture developments. Our Business very much depends on our people; all our major achievements are team efforts.

We are currently looking for a Principal Piping and Layout Designer for our New Build team, the role will be based at our Chiswick office, London, UK. 

What will you be doing?

Responsible for leading the piping & layout design team (across multiple offices) to deliver all or specific parts of the piping & layout design, as directed by the lead piping & layout engineer, within areas such as:

  • Piping design utility & process areas.
  • Development of a safe, economical and operable design in accordance with P&IDs and all company and project guidelines and specifications.
  • Ensure lines are correctly routed and supported in accordance with Project standards, guidelines and stress requirements.
  • Preparing, maintaining and checking the 3D model and discipline drawings for different phases of the project according to construction requirements and project schedule.
  • Isometric planning, coordination and delivery
  • Model data quality reporting and management
  • Supporting Piping MTO activities.
  • All aspects of 3D modelling including modelling equipment and routing lines
  • Discipline model administration.
  • Development of CAD standard practices.
  • Managing coordination between design disciplines and third parties.
  • Model preliminary structures and platforms for handover to Structural Group for detailed design.

We think you should have:

  • HNC preferred.
  • More than 15 years post qualification experience.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience within the offshore oil & gas/renewable energy sector and onshore oil & gas / carbon capture sector. Offshore experience is preferred.
  • Track record in Lead / Area Lead / Principal Piping & Layout Designer role(s) from a minimum of one E&P or EPC project.
  • Must be able to input and control information in Aveva E3D 3D model.
  • Fully capable of making and checking of 2D drawings in Autocad and / or Microstation.
  • Ability to manage and plan work scope of the piping & layout design team.
  • Hard working conscientious individual capable of working on ones own initiative
  • Good communicator and team player.
  • Experience in multiple office execution / workshare and managing high values execution centres.
