Our Cost group are looking to add an Intermediate Cost Accountant to their growing team here in St. John's, NL.

What will you be doing?

  • Responsible for capturing costs and ensuring all time, materials, services, and consumable are accurately reflected in client Cost Reporting and Billing for assigned project(s).
  • Work with Project Coordinators and Estimators to record costs for various sub-contractors and third-party vendors.
  • Prepare cost reports for both internal and external clients.
  • Work within the cost group to provide support for all cost functions including time recording of labour and equipment, preparation of invoices to Clients, financial closeout of the jobs, etc.
  • Record, monitor, and report cost data for multiple jobs on various projects.
  • Compile, reconcile and analyze cost data.
  • Accurate and timely reporting of job-related costs.
  • Assist in the reconciliation of project costs to cost reports and general ledger.
  • Manage vendor and Client interfaces as required.
  • Provide training in Cost processes and system awareness to new hires.
  • Other duties as assigned by Cost Lead or Department Manager.

We think you should have:

  • Diploma or degree in business administration / accounting discipline or a combination of education and related experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in a related role.
  • Working knowledge of budget and cost control functions.
  • Sound knowledge of general accounting and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience with accounting software systems
