Our Welding Coordination department in Egersund is now looking for a Material Engineer.

What will you be doing?

  • Be actively involved in design phase in order to ensure suitable weld design and material choice
  • Review of requirements and technical review of new tenders and contracts
  • Provide guidelines to material and welding consumables selection and surface protection
  • Answering technical questions related to material and welding metallurgy
  • Assist in evaluation of mechanical test results of welding procedure qualifications
  • Assist in investigation of failures in mechanical tests
  • Coordination of welding activities according to EN ISO 3834-2
  • Continuous follow up the construction work in prefabrication and installation
  • Following up cold and induction bending processes
  • Follow up painting process
  • Provide technical support to other discipline in all phases of projects
  • Visit project sites and subcontractors and perform necessary QA activities

We think you should have:

  • Master / bachelor in Material Technology / Metallurgy
  • Good competence in metallurgy within metallic materials
  • International Welding Engineer (IWE) diploma is not mandatory, but it will be a benefit
  • FROSIO certificate is not mandatory, but it will be a benefit
  • Good experience with Norwegian and international standards within material discipline (NORSOK, EN, ISO, ASTM, ASME, etc.)
  • Fluent English language. Norwegian language will be a benefit
  • Good cooperation skills
