Benestad at Tranby is now looking for a Test Engineer. We are looking for a practical individual with knowledge and experience in high-voltage connections/terminations who wants to work hands-on with high-voltage products without having to climb towers and be exposed to harsh weather conditions. You will be part of a team of test engineers and work on the electromechanical assembly and testing of high-voltage connectors, penetrators and cable terminations.

What will you be doing?

  • Develop and test high-voltage connectors and penetrators for offshore wind and subsea applications.
  • Build and operate test setups for product qualification, routine testing, and troubleshooting of electromechanical systems.
  • Work hands-on with mechanical, electrical, and thermal systems during development and verification activities.
  • Take an active role in overseeing the day-to-day activities and functions of the PowerLab.
  • Contribute to Aker Solutions’ transition towards renewable energy.

We think you should have:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with electromechanical systems
  • Background as a power-supply fitter or high-voltage technician, preferably with vocational certificate (fagbrev) or a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
  • Motivated to learn new technical areas, with strong attention to detail, quality, and reliable execution
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, work instructions, and assembly procedures
  • Ability to work both in a team and independently, working in a structured and efficient manner towards defined goals
  • Certification/safety training in high voltage work
  • Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems is an advantage, but not a requirement
  • Good communication skills in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken
