AI Governance Lead

Info
Would you like to be part of a team seeking to transform the energy sector?
At Aker Solutions we are changemakers with nearly 200 years of experience, committed to helping the energy industry #PowerTheChange towards a net-zero future.
We are driven by collaboration and curiosity, building tomorrow’s technological solutions today!
Artificial intelligence is changing how we design, engineer and operate complex energy infrastructure. At Aker Solutions, we turn the possibilities of AI into real-world impact by integrating advanced technology across systems, disciplines and industrial workflows, where reliability, scale and measurable results matter.
We are now looking for an AI Governance Lead to join our team in our Oslo offices.
Join us in developing practical AI solutions that help our people make better decisions, work more efficiently and solve some of the energy industry’s most complex challenges. You will become part of a collaborative environment where domain expertise, data and technology come together to build solutions designed for the real world.
What will you be doing?
- Assess Aker Solutions' current AI governance landscape, identify gaps, and establish a scalable governance operating model that enables safe and responsible AI adoption across the organisation
- Define and implement practical governance processes, frameworks, standards and ways of working for AI, ensuring clear ownership, accountability and decision-making structures
- Lead and facilitate the Responsible AI Advisory Board, working closely with teams across Legal, Compliance, Privacy, IT, Security, Procurement and Risk
- Evaluate and help implement governance tools and systems that embed governance into daily operations, moving from manual processes and documentation towards scalable, system-supported ways of working
- Establish governance requirements across the AI lifecycle, including data, vendor, security and risk considerations, while ensuring alignment with existing enterprise governance practices
- Provide guidance and influence stakeholders across business units to drive consistent adoption of Responsible AI principles, governance standards and regulatory expectations
- Monitor governance maturity, support continuous improvement initiatives, and help shape how Aker Solutions governs emerging AI technologies, including agentic AI solutions
We think you should have:
- A bachelor's degree or higher in business, technology, law, engineering or a related field. Relevant professional experience may compensate for a lack of formal education
- Experience from governance, risk, compliance, operating model, enterprise transformation, data governance or technology governance roles within complex organisations
- Proven experience designing, implementing or operationalising governance frameworks, operating models, controls or enterprise-wide processes that drive business adoption
- An interest in AI governance and Responsible AI, combined with an understanding of how governance, risk and compliance considerations apply to AI-enabled solutions
- Knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g., EU AI Act, GDPR) is an advantage
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across technical, business and corporate functions without direct authority
- Experience evaluating, implementing or improving governance processes, platforms or systems, with a pragmatic focus on turning frameworks into day-to-day operations
- Fluent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
