Our New Energies subcontracting team is now looking for Subcontract Managers for fabrication works. Aker Solutions, in the role of a main contractor, relies on a wide range of yards and fabricators to realize our projects. You will play a key role in sourcing and managing the fabrication works for landmark renewables projects, hereunder for offshore wind, carbon capture and storage and hydrogen.  

What will you be doing?

  • Meet with relevant contractors, fabricators and yards to establish relations
  • Serve as subcontracts manager in the project management team
  • Developing fabrication strategies and recommendations for senior management approval
  • Manage the process of acquiring fabrication and construction services for renewables projects
  • With assistance from technical and legal, draft and negotiate subcontracts for construction works
  • Manage fabrication subcontracts during project execution, and serve as Aker Solutions’ client representative towards the subcontractors
  • Liaison with the construction site teams managing the contractor on the fabrication site
  • Ensure the subcontractors executes their work in accordance with Aker Solutions’ needs and expectations
  • Handle claims and changes in the subcontracts during execution

We think you should have:

  • Degree in engineering, business or similar
  • Prior experience from offshore construction works, for example in construction management or methods engineering role
  • Exposure to commonly used contract standards, e.g. NTK, FIDIC, LOGIK
  • Minimum 5 years experience from offshore EPCI projects
  • An understanding of interfaces and interdependencies in EPCI projects
  • Experience from managing large and/or complex contracts is a plus, but not a requirement
  • Leadership experience
  • An ability to establish and maintain relationships
  • An ability to work internationally and across organizational boundaries. Some international travel must be expected
