Our Welding & Material Technology Department in Verdal is now looking for Responsible Welding Coordinator to help us in our mission to #Powerthechange.

What will you be doing?

You will be the company's approved Welding Coordinator and ensure that the company and its subcontractors have a quality management system that meets the requirements according to EN ISO 3834-2 and ISO 14731 regarding the execution and coordination of welding activities.

The Welding Coordinator has a professional responsibility. Have regular dialogue with Coordinators, Engineers, Inspectors NS477/IWI-S and Visual Inspectors level 2 and 3. These report professionally to the responsible welding coordinator.

The welding coordinator does not have direct personnel responsibility

Main area of responsibilities:

overall responsibility for all welding activities in accordance with NORSOK M-101 section 6.3, M-601 section 5.4 and ISO 14731 Appendix B.

Responsible for ensuring that the requirements according to ISO 3834 and ISO 14731 are followed

Initiate actions for welding technology.

Implement measures and make the necessary decisions to ensure that the responsibilities that have been imposed are carried out satisfactorily.

In projects, report to the project manager. Authority to decide and implement the necessary measures in case of deviations related to the welding process and to the quality management system.

Making ongoing decisions that are necessary to ensure processes for continuous improvement are implemented and carried out within the area of responsibility. In the case of major decisions that have procedural or financial consequences, VP Execution must be contacted. The case may be referred to the HL for a decision.

Interfaces and coordination

Ensure that the company is a technology leader in welding-related activities in connection with the company's main products.

Establish and maintain a welding technology strategy (position, objectives and means of action).

Follow-up of the industry's best practice through active participation in seminars, obtaining information from others during company visits and establishing supplier contacts.

Identify and participate in relevant research projects, especially towards SINTEF.

Be the leader of the welding quality forum and for the equipment

We think you should have:

Higher technical education, civil engineering or equivalent in the field of materials and welding technology, with 5+ years of relevant experience

Formal approval as IWE

Good knowledge of NDT

Proficient in written and spoken English and able to communicate in norwegian

Is development-oriented and sees opportunities
