We are now looking for an AI Discipline Lead to join our team in our Oslo offices.

What will you be doing?

Aker Solutions is looking for an AI Discipline Lead to build and mature its AI engineering capability, lead a team of AI specialists, establish and champion enterprise-wide AI practices, and run an AI incubation function that turns emerging technologies and business opportunities into scalable solutions.

• Lead, develop and coach AI engineers and developers, creating a high-performing environment focused on continuous learning, collaboration and technical excellence
• Build and mature Aker Solutions' AI discipline by establishing best practices, standards, ways of working and communities of practice across the organisation
• Drive an AI incubation capability by identifying promising opportunities, evaluating emerging technologies and leading proof-of-concept initiatives that can deliver business value
• Partner with business units, Digital & AI Leads and technical stakeholders to identify common challenges and translate them into scalable, reusable AI solutions
• Manage and allocate AI resources across enterprise-wide and business-unit initiatives, ensuring effective utilisation of skills and capabilities
• Promote the development and reuse of AI assets, accelerators and implementation patterns that support efficient and consistent delivery
• Contribute to shaping the future AI capability of Aker Solutions through capability planning, competency development and cross-functional collaboration

We think you should have:

• A master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related field. Relevant professional experience may compensate for a lack of formal education
• Strong experience within machine learning, data science or advanced analytics, combined with a solid understanding of AI development, deployment and operationalisation
• Ideally, previous experience leading, mentoring or developing technical specialists, with the ability to build high-performing teams and guide competency growth
• The technical credibility to engage with AI engineers, architects and business stakeholders, identifying opportunities and helping prioritise the most impactful initiatives
• Experience establishing frameworks, best practices, governance principles or reusable capabilities that enable AI solutions to scale across an organisation
• A collaborative and commercially minded approach, with the ability to build strong relationships across technical and business communities and turn emerging opportunities into tangible outcomes
• Fluent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
