In 2018, Sunnhordland Kraftlag (SKL) decided to build Løkjelsvatn hydropower station in southwestern Norway. The power station uses water from the Løkjelsvatn reservoir.
The water is led through tunnels to an underground powerhouse equipped with a Francis (measured as the drop from the reservoir to the turbine).
Aker Solutions supplied and installed mechanical equipment in the powerhouse, consisting of a Francis turbine, a main inlet valve, a turbine governor system and a cooling and drainage system. The power station was commissioned in 2024.
