Our St. John’s, NL office is looking for a Jr. Cost Controller to join our Finance & Cost team!

In this role, you will assist in capturing costs and ensuring all time, materials, services, and consumables are accurately reflected in client cost reporting and billing for assigned project(s).

What will you be doing?

• Assist in compiling data used for producing accounting and cost control records.
• Assist in preparing cost reports for both internal and external clients.
• Monitor man-hours and cost progress to establish trends and to assist in forecasting future costs.
• Assist in the reconciliation of project costs to cost reports and general ledger.
• Work within the cost group to provide support for all cost functions from the time recording of labour and equipment, the preparation of invoices through to the financial closeout of the job.
• Other duties as assigned by Cost Lead or Department Manager.

We think you should have:

• Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• 1–4 years of experience in a similar role.
• Understanding of general accounting principles and financial processes.
• Experience working with accounting software and financial systems.
