Aker Solutions appoints Hallvard Norum as Head of Media and Channels

January 19, 2023 - Hallvard Norum has been appointed Head of Media and Channels at Aker Solutions. Norum comes from a position as climate and economics journalist at the Norwegian Broadcasting Company (NRK).

As Head of Media and Channels, Hallvard Norum (45) will work with communications through Aker Solutions' official channels, press work and internal communication. He will report to Senior Vice President Communications Kari Ertresvåg.

Hallvard has a journalist solid background as an economics and climate journalist, and I’m looking forward to working with him on strengthening Aker Solutions’ position as a leading services supplier to the global energy industry,” says Kari Ertresvåg.

Solid background from the Norwegian Broadcasting Company

Hallvard is a Norwegian national with a broad journalism background, including more than a decade with NRK. He holds a master's degree in economics from the University of Oslo and a college degree in journalism. 

“Aker Solutions is a large supplier within oil and gas and is simultaneously growing rapidly in projects related to offshore wind power, carbon capture and storage. A key part of my job will be to tell the stories of the total capabilities of the company,” says Norum.

Hallvard Norum will take up his position in mid-March 2023.

Aker Solutions’ 15 000 employees in 20 countries are working within engineering and fabrication of new offshore and onshore installations, as well as support to operations and upgrades. The company is engaging with this expertise and capabilities to enable production and use of oil and gas with reduced or zero emissions. Simultaneously, deliveries of solutions for production of renewable energy such as offshore wind is increasing rapidly. The goal is that such projects for decarbonization and renewables projects will count for 1/3 of revenues within 2025. By 2030, such business will make up 2/3 of total revenues.
