Aker Solutions gets an A in ESG reporting

Aker Solutions, along with our partners and suppliers, has been recognized with a top rating for excellent environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting.

Aker Solutions, along with our partners and suppliers, has been recognized with a top rating for excellent environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting.

The ESG100 analysis examines the corporate ESG reporting of the 100 largest listed companies in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Europe, respectively.

Aker Solutions’ efforts to improve transparency and accountability in our ESG-reporting earned us an ‘A’ in this year’s ESG100 by Position Green

“In the field of ESG reporting, the bar is raised every year. This mark is a result of an outstanding team effort and demonstrates that we are following the evolving standards and continuing to enhance our practices to meet these expectations”, said Marianne Aamodt, senior vice president and head of Financial- and sustainability reporting at Aker Solutions.

This year’s review is the seventh edition and focuses on the extent to which leading companies have aligned to the EU’s European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).

It aims to provide valuable information for decision makers of both the financial and non-financial kind.

“Solid data and accurate reporting form the very foundation for our ESG efforts going forward. It’s hard to set the right direction if you don’t know where you are”, said Aamodt.

Turning ‘nice to have’ into ‘must have’

Part of the European Green Deal, the ESRS aim to provide comprehensive and robust information about companies’ social and environmental impacts, risks and opportunities to a broad group of stakeholders

What was once voluntary sustainability commitments are now becoming requirements, providing a clearer picture of how businesses create social value over time.

Starting with the 2023 report, published in March 2024, Aker Solutions’ ESG and financial accounting were integrated into one annual report, one year before this integrated way of reporting becomes mandatory.

“We welcome the new reporting standards, as we believe they are well aligned with our purpose of solving global energy challenges for future generations. It is now our job, together with our clients and partners, to make good use of the data to drive change and improve sustainability in our industry”, said Aamodt.
