Open cage is an open cage design, models available for 3000 and 6000 tonnes biomass.

In 2018, Sunnhordland Kraftlag (SKL) decided to build Løkjelsvatn hydropower station in southwestern Norway. The power station uses water from the Løkjelsvatn reservoir. The water is led through tunnels to an underground powerhouse equipped with one Francis turbine with output of 65MW, at the net head of 544m (measured as the drop from the reservoir to the turbine).
