In 2018, Sunnhordland Kraftlag (SKL) decided to build Løkjelsvatn hydropower station in southwestern Norway. The power station uses water from the Løkjelsvatn reservoir. The water is led through tunnels to an underground powerhouse equipped with one Francis turbine with output of 65MW, at the net head of 544m (measured as the drop from the reservoir to the turbine). In 2024, Aker Solutions commissioned an upgrade of mechanical equipment in the powerhouse, consisting of a Francis turbine, a main inlet valve, a turbine governor system and a cooling and drainage system.  Read more: Currilinque case | Åmela case | Hydropower home    

Aker Solutions has the expertise and experience for safe and cost-efficient decommissioning of offshore oil and gas facilities, from studies and engineering to removal, dismantling and recycling.

We deliver solutions for maintenance and modification of existing energy infrastructure, with an end-to-end offering that encompasses decommissioning services such as heavy lifts, reverse installation, removal of subsea infrastructure and onshore demolition, disposal and recycling.

Den Høgvyrde Kronprins Haakon kjem på offisielt besøk til Aker Solutions på Stord onsdag 8. februar, for å bli betre kjent med verksemda sitt arbeid med berekraft og omstilling til nye marknader. Besøket er ein del av programmet for å markera kronprinsparet sine 50-årsdagar. 

Aker Solutions, together with Aker Carbon Capture has been awarded a full front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract by Hafslund Oslo Celsio (Celsio), the largest supplier of district heating in Norway, to develop carbon capture at its waste-to-energy facility at Klemetsrud in Oslo, Norway.
