Our team in St. John's, NL is seeking an Lead Piping Engineer to join the team!

What will you be doing?

  • Manage and supervise personnel within discipline team
  • Works together with other members of the discipline team, and with other engineering disciplines, through work development; investigates, advises and resolves design and field engineering problems.
  • Has a good understanding of piping systems, layouts, stress analysis, materials and component selection especially for applications related to Offshore Oil & Gas.
  • Ability to convey expertise to other disciplines through clear and concise written and verbal means.
  • Coach and support the technical development of less experienced engineers to develop overall capability.
  • Perform final engineering review of deliverables.
  • Ensure overall customer requirements are met in line with agreed standards and expectations.
  • Develop and steward the budget and schedule for the discipline team.
  • Ensure completion of discipline specific as-built documentation during closeout.
  • Establish and maintain good communication with Client representatives.
  • Supports company objectives pertaining to quality, health, safety, security, and the environment.

As a discipline lead, supports the Engineering Manager in directives issued as part of the office and Corporate goals by cascading down within the discipline.

We think you should have:

  • Current registration with PEGNL as a P. Eng
  • A minimum of 10 years relevant work experience, with supervisory experience preferred, ideally within a brownfield industrial environment.
  • Solid understanding of standard methods and practice within the discipline included standard engineering methods and techniques.
  • Ability to train others in the application of engineering practices as related to discipline aspects, including code and criteria requirements.
